Lower Rio Grande (LRG) Water Alliance

The purpose of the Lower Rio Grande Water Alliance is to convene stakeholders to collectively craft and coordinate implementation of long-term water management solutions in the Lower Rio Grande.

These solutions are intended to:

• Be based on the best available science related to hydrologic realities,

• Balance water use with a highly variable supply, including efforts to develop additional resources,

• Support long-term aquifer sustainability,

• Be informed by on-the-ground expertise from local water users,

• Conserve and strengthen local agricultural communities,

• Collaborate with local economies and take into consideration local values including water use for agriculture, municipal, domestic, commercial, industrial, environmental, educational, research and
